Getting Close

The official start of my 2008/2009 Upland Bird Season is getting close. Only 42 mores days!
In that time I'll be sharpening up the skills of my older ESS, Mia and starting our puppy, Abby, on birds.

I'm looking forward to this season. Mia is coming into her own and I have all the confidence in her. As always, I wish I had more time for her in the off season for training. It's not so much about the time as is the location and lack of accessibility to training grounds. But I make due with the backyard, park and the 80 mile drive (one way) to the trainer. One of these days every aspect in my Upland Odessey will come together.

Matt...I'm counting the days down to September First myself! I can't hardly wait! Saw good numbers of Blues this past few weeks, so it ought to be a good grouse season! I grew up with ESS...but converted to pointing dogs while I was in Vet school. We currently have a FB English Cocker that is very nice, and I can't wait to chase pheasants with her! Shawn
