Camping

One of our favorite pastime is always a weekend long camping trip. With our hectic schedules it seems every summer we get to camp less and less. We made plans well in advance for this trip. Our destination is one of our favorites: Elevenmile Canyon. The canyon road is almost 15 miles long with several campsites along the way. But one in particular stands out.....Springer Gulch.

I was able to spend a little time on the water and it proved to be a challenging time indeed. The flows on this section of the South Platte were almost 400 cfs. That's the highest flows I've seen in the 7 years of fishing this area. Nympng was the call of the day. With bright sunny skies and consistent wind any hatch was doomed. It seemed that the 9-11am was the prime time for these difficult conditions. And on Sunday I enterd the fly fishing "zone" when it seemed every drift produced a fish.

Camp.....

Fish......

Eat....

and Relax.

til next time.....
