It's always good to have a backup plan. A fishing excursion to the fabled "Dream Stream" section of the South Platte River was the plan for the day. With rumors of giant rainbow trout running our crew had visions of landing a big one. Best laid plans...well the flows were low, it was cold (-2 when we pulled in at 8am) and a good chance of "combat" fishing if we hung around. With the odds stacked against us we decided to venture the 15 miles to Eleven Mile Canyon of the South Platte. This tail water gets it's fair share of anglers but there are plenty of holes and places to fish. As soon as we got settled the trout started cooperating. The action was fast as I ever experienced in this type of weather as we landed many.
A few photos from the day.
First fish of the day for me...man I look like a gained a few pounds!
A few more 'bows.
Fish of the day: Adis and his cutbow.
Cheers to backup plans and to living in Colorado!!

While I have been quiet on the blog I've been nothing short of busy. I've resumed the steady training with Abby. Her steadying process has taken much longer than I originally anticipated. She was going strong until the upland season started in September. Between my desire to hunt and my sometimes unrelenting work schedule it was hard to train on a consistent basis. So here we are busting our butts to get her finished and fully trained for the fall trials and upland season. I'm confidant that we'll make great use of our time as the daylight grows longer. In the meantime it's all about Abby, training and a little fishing mixed in.
